SHIHODO Gallery is pleased to present “War Paintings” by Japanese modern Oil painters and “Reflection,” a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Yukyo Yamamoto at Art Fair Tokyo 19.
Through the war paintings of Japanese modern oil painters, the exhibition will explore how the artists have been involved with their times and how they have expressed themselves.
At the same time, new works by contemporary artist Yukyo Yamamoto will be exhibited. Under the theme of “Reflection,” the exhibition will attempt to reflect on past wars and war paintings amid ongoing civil wars and conflicts around the world, and how we, as artists living in the modern age, can face them.
